Lovely food, great portions, nice staff. First visit, - a very icy January for a birthday treat!. Will go again in better weather! Very nice traditional village pub/restaurant/ function room, with large car park - has it all. A big thank you to the staff.

Came here with my wife and father-in-law for tea and the service was good and the food was exceptional. Nice big portion so only a main was needed and tasted very good too. Definitely be returning again with more of the family.

Bloody delicious carvery! Great set up on a Sunday, as it's carvery only. Lovely meat, fresh vegetables and buttery mashed potatoes.

This was my first time at Manvers, but it certainly won't be my last. Visited on the recommendation of a colleague, and she was spot on. The food was delicious, well presented, and of the right portion for a good eater like me. The waitresses were very friendly and added to the warm pub atmosphere. I had the Cajun Chicken, and my friends had the Lasagna. If you're in the area I would definitely recommend you drop by for a drink and a meal. Worth it!!!

Attended 01.09.24 for a birthday lunch. Booked for a party of 12 and was left feeling let down. Staff seemed to congregate round the booking in podium not really doing a lot we was given no guidance on arrival just told where we was sitting and left to our own devices. Sitting in the conservatory is tight if you have any chunky people in there. Would have been nice to be told you had to pay for your lunch at the bar before you could be served at the carvery we wouldn’t have booked for a party if we had known. Chap on the carvery was quite abrupt and didn’t make you feel comfortable. Must say the food was lovely and a great selection of vegetables. Except Stuffing was rubbery, Yorkshire puddings very greasy and crackling was cold. Don’t think we will be rushing back as a group but might give it a go for a smaller gathering which is a shame

A local gem this place. Went yesterday with my partner and the food was amazing as always. Never had a bad meal and their Sunday dinners are class. Best restaurant in the area. 👏

Went for a meal with family for my gran’s 75th and my auntie and uncle’s 18th wedding anniversary. It was quite hot. We all had the carvary and it was really nice. Apparently the beef was chewy, but the turkey was lovely. My gran was trying to find more crispy roast potatoes and a lovely woman brought some that were a little crispier out specially for her. I also don’t eat a lot of veg and my mum had made a comment whilst she was getting her own carvary and whilst I was helping my gran get hers. She was telling me to ask the man for more meat/an extra Yorkshire and I basically shushed her because I felt quite embarrassed. I sat down gran for her food and then queued again to get mine and when I got to the front, the man had remembered my mum’s quiet comment to me and gave me a little extra meat and an extra Yorkshire without me even having to ask. I really really appreciated that as I don’t eat any veg apart from potatoes and it was our first time going so we were a little disheartened to find out there isn’t any other menu food on a Sunday. All of the food was really lovely and the waitresses were very kind and patient despite the heat and it being fairly busy. We had also phoned and booked the day of and asked to be seated near to the toilets for disability access for my mum and gran and were seated perfectly upon getting there. The lemonade was also really nice and fresh! We didn’t order desserts. Thank you for a lovely meal out!

Sunday dinner is great. I'd give it 4.5/5. The only annoying thing is that the stuffing used to be balls, and you could get more than one. If they did a steak pie option with the Sunday lunch, it gets a true 5/5. The main menu stuff on a weekday is also really good.

Really good home cooked food. I had cauliflower bhaji with pickle and raita, followed by haddock and chips in beer batter and it was totally delicious!!! The portions are huge as well. Definitely one to try. If I was being critical, only one type of red wine but otherwise absolutely superb.

I took my nan here for a birthday lunch. I liked the pub, it's quite a traditional style with plenty of parking outside which was handy. It has a good selection of food on the menu which makes it so hard to choose because it all sounds so great. It is really well priced as well. I must admit, we did wait an awfully long time for the food to come out. I think it was close to an hour before it eventually came out. However, the food was delicious. It also was an absolutely huge portion that I couldn't finish. To be honest, I don't think any of us managed to clear our plates. Unfortunately, my nan had a fall on the way out. I don't think it was the fault of the pub though, there wasn't anything for her to fall over. The staff were truly amazing, and tried their best to help that made a huge difference. My only criticism is that there are a few raised bits that my nan struggled to get her walker over, and where we were sat was really far from the disabled toilets. But I don't think that can be helped. Embarrassingly, in the heat of the moment with my nan falling, we all completely forgot to leave a tip! So we will definitely be back, and will definitely be tipping the great service.
